CREATING POWERFUL JEWISH MESSAGING FOR FILM, TV & SOCIAL MEDIA
Welcome to the Jewish Filmmakers Network, an organization of filmmakers who strive to create pro-Jewish, pro-Israel film content. In response to the growing amount of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel film content online, we are committed to countering this through the creation of positive Jewish and pro-Israel cinema. Additionally, our mission is to empower people by ensuring there are spaces where people can be creative and produce films that reflect their personal values.
SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL The Jewish Filmmakers Network officially launched at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, on Jan 21st, 2023. It was the beginning of an annual event that brings together Jewish filmmakers at the Sundance Film Festival. It aims to empower talented artists, educate and create role models for young adults to see themselves on screen and encourages others to bring their stories through film.

The Film Industry has a large impact on the way that people perceive and interact with the world, and this unfortunately can create stereotypes and create bias. The Jewish Filmmakers Network aims to change the trend of stereotype or negative messages by creating positive films that promote positive values, both in general and specifically when it comes to Israel. We want to give all generations an outlet for telling their story — whether it’s through documentary style films, comedic explorations of identity or even animation we want you to feel free, open and comfortable with whatever your idea may be no matter how big or small.

FAQs
What are we trying to achieve?
To use creativity to counter anti-Semitism online. This is content creation, filmmaking and more. Our priority is volume and speed: to create and distribute as much pro-Israel/pro-Jewish/pro-truth content in as many places, as fast as possible.
Who are we targeting with these videos?
Jews should not feel they are fighting alone in a world that hates them where they have to hide who and what they are. Quite the opposite. We want to help them communicate with others about the truth of who they are and why that is so important in making a better world.
Who is this for?
We are designing this content for Jews who are not sure how to respond to what is happening in the world right now. Above all, we want them to know they have a support system, an authentic truth and valid argument against the hate being directed their way. We are looking to build unity, a shared sense of community, and rational talking points around a pro-Israel and pro-zionism cause for Jews and non Jews alike.
Who else can we communicate with?
Once we have communicated effectively to our own people with arguments that resonate, we will be going after the “undecided voters” to win them to the pro-Israel side. Not those who are pro-Palestinian and anti-Semitic, not those who are already pro-Israel, but the people who are in-between.
Why is this so important?
Because anti-Semitism is increasing to levels that haven’t been seen since the Holocaust. Jews are being targeted worldwide. There are over 1500 people slaughtered in Israel, over 240 hostages still held in captivity by Hamas, and Jews are being blamed.
There is rampant misinformation and propaganda, framing Israel as the aggressor, or an apartheid state, and many other lies. Because pro-Israel includes wanting hostages returned, Hamas destroyed, a state created for the Palestinians, and peace. Israel has always been in favour of a Palestinian state, since 1937 Peel Commission when Arabs were offered 80% of the land and Jews were offered 20% of the land. The Palestinians have turned down every offer for a state, and the “Free Palestine” propaganda is shorthand for “Destroy Israel/Jews”.
How will we know if we have been successful?
We will have produced and distributed lots of on-mission content at volume and speed. It is hard to identify a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and measure success - eg whether it has changed the hearts-and-minds of “undecided” voters, but our mission is to equal, surpass and counter the sheer volume of anti-Semitic propaganda and lies that are being promoted in pro-Palestinian media.
Is this like an army of filmmakers? A creative battalion?
Yes. Imagine there are teams of anti-Semitic filmmakers in Gaza, Qatar, Iran and elsewhere. They produce huge amounts of content with fake narratives, and do it at volume and speed. They have done an excellent job pretending that Jews are oppressors, and that Hamas terrorists are victims.
How our work as filmmakers like a war?
We are an army of creatives - filmmakers, content creators and artists of different kinds. The Israeli army is fighting on the borders of Gaza and Lebanon, and we are at war on the creative battleground of social media and in the press. Instead of using guns, we use cameras to win hearts and minds.
